Osiyo, Hou and Tal, You have just entered The Barrens, home to many different Nations and Tribes of the Red Savages of Gor! There are too many to even begin to name, but a few that are mentioned in the books are the Dust Legs, Yellow-Knives and Kaiila. The Dust Legs Trading Circle is located near the Ihanke or Boundary marking the beginning of The Barrens (Red Savage Land). The Dust Legs encampment would be nearby, but rarely would wasicu (non-Red Savages) enter. This sim is a teaching/BtB/roleplaying sim. The Barrens does NOT operate under city laws. The Barrens is of the Red Savages. We operate under the Laws of the Red Savages. Your laws are NOT binding in the Barrens. PERIOD! The Barrens will and does operate under the assumption that at ALL times, Warriors are present and guarding the Ihanke. This means ALL actions are noted. Crossing the Ihanke alerts these NPC Warriors. A wasicu (non-Savage) at that point is watched. A wasicu CAN NOT enter villages WITHOUT a Warriors (real not NPC) invitation. WARRIOR. NOT a Savage Woman nor a inahan (slave). A Warrior. Therefore, entering without a Warriors invitation (as you'd never find the villages in the Barrens without an escort) any action done is deemed as invalid roleplay. Slaves at NO TIME may dress or act as a Warrior, Savage Woman, Wasicu Free Man or Wasicu Free Woman. PERIOD! To do so is a DEATH sentence (re: perm banned). Slaves are SLAVES! DEAL with it or be GONE! Read the rest of the laws. Ignorance will NOT be tolerated. The following laws are to be followed at ALL times while in The Barrens: Sovereign Land of the Red Savages. Failure to follow these laws WILL result in one of two options. Enslavement or death (re: banning). Visiting slaves from other Gorean cities MUST also be familiar with and follow all of the Barrens slave rules that pertain to slaves in general as well as the Laws of the Barrens. 1. If are new to Gor a Guest Titler MUST be worn. Failure to wear one means that you are knowledgeable of Gor and will abide the decisions if fail to comply to said rules. A Guest Titler does NOT provide complete and total immunity. A Guest is simply that...a Guest. Do NOT interfere in the daily lives of the residents of The Barrens. If you as a guest wish a tour, look for the online orbs and IM one of the inahan. A tour IS NOT an express invitation for your roleplay here. During a tour...you are just that. ON a tour. Nothing more..nothing less. 2. All non-Gorean FM wear the Traders Outfit. All non-Gorean FW wear the Traveling Outfit. All visiting slaves, Gorean or not, go naked. Visiting boys, Gorean or not, go naked or may beg for a scrap of cloth. Slaves do NOT wear silks or loincloth equivalents. PERIOD! To do so in an insult to a Warrior of the Red Savages and may result in severe beating or death. Red Savages wore Native American styled clothing. ONLY Free Men may wear a breechclout. Free Women wear Red Savage dresses with either moccasin boots or leggings. Free Women must NOT show leg nor cleavage. Veils are not worn by Red Savage Free Women. Slaves are naked or wear the rags of the Free Woman. 3. Guests MUST be human in appearance. This means NO and I mean NO Robots, Vampires, Goth Avatars, Furries, Dragons, Werewolves, Fairies, etc. Guests MUST be human in appearance! 4. NO and I mean NO weapons are to be worn or carried that did NOT exist in The Barrens. This means no guns as guns didn't exist on Gor. Swords may NOT be drawn. Period. Swords may be worn ONLY while in the Dust Legs trading circle. IF dare to go further, the swords must be put away. Weapons that may be worn are canphi, small bow and arrows (not crossbows), axe, lance, warclub, knives(small). Women may NOT wear nor carry weapons in The Barrens period. 5. Any FW not dressed and acting appropriately faces force collaring. 6. Panthers and slaves of panthers would NOT be seen in the Barrens as it is not feasible for them to cross into our territory and survive. 7. For all NOT of the Barrens, when you cross the Ihanke you have entered force collar and capture zones. ONCE YOU CROSS THE IHANKE, YOU ARE SLAVE! This means ALL, whether you are Free Man, Free Woman or slave (collared or not). Safe passage may be granted via High Chief of the Barrens ONLY! 8. All uncollared slaves can and will be captured. 9. It is a death sentence in The Barrens for a slave to remove their collar. 10. The Barrens is at present a NO KILL ZONE. Slaves can be killed. ONLY Red Savages may capture and force collar. 11. Runaways slaves are captured. We may or may NOT return them as we see fit. 12. If you wish to become a Red Savage, you must be over 18 and speak to Mikal Snakeankle. 13. Women and slaves of The Barrens do NOT carry nor touch weapons. Women and slaves do not fight. A Woman found doing such, faces force collaring. A slave found doing such, faces death. 14. There will be an area set aside for disputes between Red Savage men. Scripted weapons appropriate to The Barrens will be provided for such disputes. 15. The Ceremonial Dance Area, when built, is off limits to Free Women no matter where they are from. 16. The sweat lodge is for the Free Men of the Dust Legs. Women are prohibited from entering. A male slave may enter ONLY when placing the stones inside the sweat lodge. Said slave will be assigned that duty. 17. Free Women of the Barrens may speak boldly, but beware of how far you go for a Free Woman can be beaten by a male member of their family. 18. Free Women may NOT sit on council as ALL decisions are made by men. 19. Each tribal member has a place. KNOW and UNDERSTAND your place and role. Accept and HONOR those roles. 20. Free Women may dance in The Barrens. HOWEVER, said dance must NOT be provocative in nature. It MUST be demure and ONLY during village dances. 21. Penalty for a runaway inahan, is death. (Perm ban from Barrens) 22. This is for the camp inahan so that NO ONE can claim that they were IGNORANT on my STANCE on alt play. There are to be NO dual Owners of any camp slaves here in the Barrens..PERIOD. If caught having two owners and residing here..it is a death sentence. 23. TRUTH and HONOR are held high in the eyes of a Red Savage. If a Red Savage says it is so, it is so. If a Red Savage paints a story on a kaiiluak skin, it is the truth, plain and simple. A Red Savage believes that truth will protect them. If a Red Savage lies, their shield will no longer protect them. 24. Penalty for a Red Savage painting a falsehood on a kaiilauk hide is death. 25. Penalty for distributing falsified information is death (re: banning). Note, the Red Savages beliefs mirrors the beliefs of much of Gor. Your welfare of Caste and Home Stone is mirrored by our firm belief in the welfare of our Tribe and Community as opposed to the individual. There are no castes as such in The Barrens. There are Chiefs, Warriors, Storytellers, Medicine-men. Chiefs will be appointed by Mikal Snakeankle. There are 3 types of Chiefs. War Chief, Medicine Chief and Civil Chief. All Free Men are Warriors regardless of the other positions held. Free Women may be storytellers as well as assist the Medicine-men. Any questions regarding the above laws, speak to Mikal Snakeankle.
